New Years Eve

New Years Eve this year was such a blast! As I mentioned in my previous entry I spent the day having an amazing brunch and at night I got ready for the evening with my roommate Alana and her old roommate Liz. I will show a picture of all of us later. First lets talk about me. So I have a love for the spectacle and New Years Eve is the perfect time to express that. Why be conservative? Start the new year out with a bang! Make the outfit and the night so much fun you have to spend a whole year trying to live up to the first night. I try to avoid the gay outfit for the night, which apparently was skinny boot-cut jeans with a button up and a vest. Literally every homo at the club I went to was wearing that. So being me I needed to do something different. I wore these great new boots I got at DSW with money I got from my mom for Christmas (thanks Mom, love you!!). They are black with silver buttons that have these great slouchy look to them. Get used to them, they will appear in plenty of future ensembles. Paired with the leather boots I wore shiny leather pants (thanks Alana for sewing the button back on them). Finishing off the look was this mat silver top that has this bit of shimmer to it I got at H&M with money I got from my Grandma for Christmas (thanks G Money!!). Take a look.

Amazing right? It was my Christmas gift to myself. Moving on. So makeup. I did my usual but I bought a new lip stain from Sephora to use. It is that dark purple-red color from the pic of the whole outfit. It is Sephora brand and looked amazing. Because it was a stain it stayed on all night too. I am a huge fan of dark lips so that will probably be a running theme to my make up fyi.

What's that? Those eyelashes are FABULOUS you say? Well thank you! If the movie Sucker Punch taught me anything it is always wear fake eyelashes. They were a theme with Alana, Liz, and I while getting ready and with Alana and I out dancing and having fun at Club Cafe. More eyelash pics.

So that is that! Went out, had a blast, drank a bunch, danced all night, don't remember coming home (other than not liking the cabby, I distinctly remember thinking he was a moron). Overall it was an amazing night!!

ps. got my hair cut! Here are some pics! Got it done at Rock Paper Scissors on Newbury Street. Jill cut it and I LOVE it so much.

pps. I am dedicating this post to my Aunt Tammy. We lost her a year ago today when she was only 39. I loved her so very very much and miss her dearly. I know she is in heaven having a big ass long island ice tea and that is just fabulous. Love you girl.

NYE Day/Brunch

Ew so first and foremost sorry for the huge delay in posts. I got super caught up with work and the holidays and my roommates boxed set of Angel so I kept not posting. Well from here on out I pledge, it is a new years resolution of mine, to post every Tuesday and Thursday. I will try to make each post as fabulous as I am.

My first post in 2012 will be about this fabulous brunch I went to on NYE day. It was held at my roommates friends place and it was glorious. I will get into what I was wearing in a sec, but first let me tell you about this place. If you didn't already know I live in Boston and if you aren't familiar with Boston the harbor is beautiful. The brunch overlooked the harbor. People with condo's around there are super wealthy (thank you Andrew for having rich parents). Check out this glam display that was in the lobby.

Amazing right? I love me the sailor thing. So combine the thick robe, christmas ornaments, and a dry sea scape? I DIED. Literally. Died. Check this view out.

Even foggy Boston Harbor is still beautiful

Right? How good is my life? While there my friends and I, 8 in total, would kill sooooooo many bottles of champagne.

I digress, let me get to the good part. My outfit. If you have short term memory loss I will remind you, I love the whole nautical thing. I know it is more of a summer look but IDGAF! I love it and I do what I want. So I was inspired by this incredible blazer I bought at H&M that is white with thing navy vertical pinstripes. Combine with red v-neck, pearls, jeans, and thigh high brown boots and BAM. You got one fierce bitch. Lemme show ya.

Divine right? I felt/looked amazing. I got compliments on this ensemble everywhere I went. Totally made my day. By day I mean it made me feel like despite everything terrible that happened to me in 2011 (no details but some of it was real shitty) I made it through and I made it through with some style. Wurq. I love the necklace I have on, let me show it close up (will also show my nail color)

 So the necklace I kind of made. I bought the pearls when I worked at Forever 21 for like $8. The sailboat I got when I worked at Juicy and it cost like $40. I don't have a charm bracelet (nor do I want one, I like them but they aren't my style) so I made it into a necklace and this became one of my absolute FAVS! Makeup next. So those were my nails. They are this amazing blue-green that reminds me of a tropical beach. I chose the color not so much for this outfit but to have nails that popped with my outfit for NYE. So now face, lemme give a close up.

So I used this awesome primer I got at Sephora through my Sephora points (I had like 400, figured might as well use some of them). It is called Korres mattifying primer. Then I did my usual, though went light on the bronzer for a lighter look. I was in a glimmer lip gloss but my roommate is super smart and had me put on her red lipstick and it just made everything WURQ. Ugh look at it on me? Not to be a vain bitch but damn I look pretty. Weaves and Bleach

This is going to be a post about my hairspirations. I absolutely love my hair. It is all white blonde and perfect. The blonde look is an American classic, great movie stars throughout time were blonde. From Marilyn Monroe to Kristen Bell, Allison Harvard to Farrah Fawcett, Morgan Fairchild, Ali Larter, Reese Witherspoon, RuPaul, Beyonce, etc. I could literally go on and on. Yes, all of these people are women (with one drag queen). Well my style and hair are not exactly butch so deal with it. Let me show you some of my hairspirations, or people who were.

My first inspiration was the amazing Agyness Deyn. Take a look at this beauty.

Gorgeous

This super model made it big for her slightly androgynous feel, which is something I LOVE. Androgyny is always fierce. I loved her hair because it was short but still boyish. Well on her, on me it is super girly. Which I love. Then she went brunette, bald, and currently has a cute cute but isnt blonde (or might be again now, idk. She looks best platinum imo).

My next was the Swedish singer Robyn. I love her music, she is easily in my top 5 singers/bands of all time, up there with Gaga and Nightwish. Her hair until late was AMAZING too.

Terrific

Not only does  her electro dance music KILL but her hair did too! I ended making my hair transition to her because I seriously wanted some long amazing bangs. Which I have now. Love my bangs, even when she lost the long bang it still worked. She looks edgy and cutting edge, which is perfect for someone in the music biz. I mean then she made her hair look like this recently and I seriously stopped loving her hair (not her though, just her hair)

Virus and Whiskey

OMG sorry it has been like forever. On friday, also known as the busiest day of my life, my computer decided to get a virus and I had literally no time to fix it until today after work. I won't bore you with the details except check out me being fierce in a vest that made me cold.

My hair color looks amazing

Well I got to have a great time this weekend! I almost never get to go out on weekends as I always work in the mornings. Either way I went to this dive bar Sligo, which is rated one of the top dive bars in Boston, with my roommate Alana and our friends Ashley and Alex (so many A names omfg). It did not disappoint. Loved it. I was pounding back whiskey. It killed me the next day, I never drink whiskey. Only thing I texted that night was to my college roommate James and all it said was "santa claus is coming to town." Why did I text this? I have no idea. All I tweeted that night was "whiskey. meow." I was drunk. But I looked good. Let me show you.

I am wearing my thrift store jeans, thigh high boots from Forever 21 (they have fake leather straps that wrap around the boot and tie in the front. They are amazing), a gold and grey boxey shirt that is also from forever, and my usual MAC makeup.

 Love the necklace. I also got it at Forever 21. I used to work there btw, so I have a lot of stuff from there. While I did not enjoy working there I do love the clothes. If you have time to look they have cheap cute clothes. Not my favorite store but good on a budget which I always am. I promise I will show me in cute things not from there too on here! Well yeah. I will have more soon! Sorry about the long break in between posts!

Shit got real

So tonight I had a shitty day. It was raining, worked 16+ hours at work, and did I mention either of the previous two things?? Yeah. So I came home was hanging with my beautiful roommate and we decide to order a pizza. We call Boston Pizza Express and order a pizza. Than it is delivered and shit gets real. Yeah I don't care about how the pizza tasted, when our pizza was delivered my roommate went down to get it from the delivery guy. This man than proceeded to grope her, try to put his arms around her many times, and actually kissed her. She in no way consented to this. He just thought this way ok. To sexually assault a customer. This is disgusting and should not be tolerated or allowed. Yeah I know very few people read my blog but don't order from this place as long as Nico (or fucker of a delivery man) is employed.

Figure Skating God(dess)

I have many style icons. I could list them but I won't. This way I have a lot more things to write about in the future. Bam. Deal with it.

My first post about fashion icons to me is the glamorous diva Johnny Weir. I love figure skating, I love when a gay man is proud enough to be flaming (give me more Jack Mcfarlanes on tv please, it isn't offensive it is just a girl living her life), and I love outrageous fashion. Miss Weir is all of these things combined. I don't think Johnny has ever officially come out but lets be real. Watch her skate.

Did you watch it? If not stop reading and just watch for a few seconds. 20 seconds at most. Did you? Good. Gold lamé sleeve, half tutu, and it is figure skating to Bad Romance. Oh yeah, this bitch is perfect.

Right so back to Johnny. I honestly love figure skating. I sit around and watch it everytime I see it on tv. I queened the fuck out when that episode of Project Runway aired where they designed for Sasha Cohen. So I love that Johnny is one professionally. She speaks russian fluently; a language I studied in college and to this continue to study. I am also terrible at it. Johnny was also seen wearing this:

Rhinestones and Embroidery

My first personal style post! So first of all I cannot figure out how to people worked myspace magic. What is myspace magic? It is when someone somehow manages to take pictures of their whole body in a mirror without covering their entire body with a flash or having everything come out so dark you can't see any of the cute shit I am wearing. I had to settle for grainy pictures from my webcam. Ugh.

Well so ew. Tonight is a work gathering for charity, raising money for St Judes Children's Hospital. Nothing bad to say about the organization... well other than the video they have you watch makes me cry every time. Seriously dying kids is not chic. Dress code is casual so I get to be fierce.

Bam

Boho chic at its best. I decided I kill with white nails I am continuing to slay with them tonight. My vest I got on clearance at Urban, and the jeans at a thrift store. I am also two of my staple pieces: my thigh high black boots from Forever and my rhinestone headband from Juicy. I did my usual makeup, foundation and bronzer from MAC, mascara from there and some other place (I wear two kinds of mascara, one for the upper eyelash, one for the bottom and to redo the top to make the lashes bigger), and my favorite lip gloss from Sephora (called Reflex Black Energy).
